Lee Point Sunrise

Lee Point is one of the popular beaches in the northern suburbs of Darwin, and it is also an important breeding ground for shore birds, and a prime location for capturing storm images. One of my favourite times to photograph is early morning because you can get some space to yourself, and although the period of good light can be short - it can be unique. This particular morning I chased the last of a storm as it passed to the north and off to the west of Darwin.

As the sun rose it produced the colours of the rainbow in a way that is rarely seen, which then reflected back into the sands and water of a receding tide.

Paul's Landscape Photography Tip

Keep it simple. Sometimes you don't need much in an image to tell the story. But if it is simple, choose your compostion carefully so the image is not boring.
